The day started out with a tornado watch...

It was a balmy 73 degrees, and the wind was blowing like crazy. My first wedding of the 2022 Wedding Season was starting out on a very turbulent note. In the back of my mind, I was pondering if this moment was indicative of how the rest of my year would go. I didn't want to imagine that. For now, I had one purpose and that was to photograph Alex and Jackie's ocean beach wedding no matter what was blown at me! A strong cold front was moving through that morning. I keep up with the weather pretty seriously because it is crucial to what I do. After speaking with my couple about their alternative plans, we decided to wait and see what Mother Nature had in store for the day. Just as I thought, the weather turned bad, and it started raining. The wind picked up even more. If you didn't know any better, you would have thought we were in the middle of a tropical storm. Still, with determination, I set out on my way to North Topsail Beach in North Carolina to photograph what would eventually turn out to be the coldest wedding I've ever photographed. I live in the South people so don't judge! We don't handle cold well here LOL...donning her grandmother's vintage bridal veil and headpiece, Jackie married Alex and the two had the best attitudes towards their plans getting totally scrambled. Weddings rarely go off "Without A Hitch", but the more open minded you are the better your day will go! Enjoy this teaser of Alex and Jackie's frigid romantic portrait session!
