The day began like any other wedding I photograph...

However, it quickly changed! It was beautiful and sunny when I headed out for the wedding, but shortly after arriving the weather took a turn for the worse. Imagine, we are in the gorgeous bridal suite, The Cottage on Orange St., and everyone is happy and doing their final touches before the bride gets her gown on. Suddenly, the loudest thunder clap I've ever heard explodes outside the window followed by a lightning bolt hitting somewhere close by. Just as we are about to head outside to photograph the bride and bridesmaids, it starts to drizzle. We finished up quickly and now it's time for the first look with the bride and groom. I knew we had minutes before the bottom fell out and I was right! As I placed the groom for the first look, the bottom definitely fell out! It started monsoon raining and we scrambled to get the photos we needed to get done in that moment. This is where hiring a seasoned photographer will come in handy for you. We are well versed in constantly changing situations on wedding days. My brain sprang into action, and we made the absolute best of a very rainy day. The images below are just a TEASER of Taylor and Jordan's beautiful wedding at Bakery 105 in downtown Wilmington, NC. Bakery 105 is a stunning wedding venue featuring exposed brick, an open courtyard, and all the historic romance downtown Wilmington, NC has to offer. ENJOY!
